The Window and Door Specialists

Livingwood Windows Ltd has been listed as our highly deserved Window & Door Specialist of the Year, we are pleased to announce here at Building and Facilities News. We would therefore like to tell our readership more about this prestigious brand and its product offering, focusing primarily on its newest addition to the range, the Hi-Finity sliding door system.

With over 50 years of combined experience working within the competitive window and door industry, Livingwood has successfully maintained an enviable reputation for engineering and design excellence with its quality range of these functional fittings.

Available in meticulously crafted timber, aluminium or composite, the high performance doors and windows are developed in accordance with individual customer requests, so when it comes to colour and style, the options are limitless.

From its base in Suffolk the company accommodates the needs of clients throughout the UK with its easy-to-maintain and environmentally sourced windows and doors, although its energy-efficient offering also extends to the supply of sliding systems and panoramic windows.

The affordable and aesthetically pleasing products – which come with a 10-year guarantee (if aluminium; a 5-year warranty is granted for timber doors and windows) – can be designed bespoke, and it is this flexibility which has made the brand such a coveted supplier and installer. The organisation has subsequently completed a diverse range of projects, servicing customers on schemes for luxury housing plots, schools, churches, commercial properties and private residential homes.

Livingwood can offer individuals the full package: as well as specifying solutions, its team of approved and well-informed technical experts can provide a rapid delivery service and finalise the full fitting of the necessary product.

L-R: Antony Jackson & Toby J. Golding, Directors at Livingwood Windows presented with the Window & Door Specialist of the Year Award

Company Director Toby J Golding was keen to tell us about the team’s most recent movements. “The last 12 months have been very productive for us here at Livingwood,” he commented. “Our aluminium sales have exceeded expectation, which has allowed us to make further investments – this has included the purchase of a new CNC machine which will allow us to double production for 2017.

“There have been no changes to the structure of the business, although we are pleased to report that we have exceeded our sales target by approximately 10%. We did find – in terms of influencing economic factors – that there were a quiet couple of weeks before and after the Brexit decision, but we have found that business has increased significantly since and continues to do so.”

Custom is set to soar even further with the recent involvement of Belgian manufacturing giant Reynaers, with whom Livingwood has negotiated an exciting new deal. This contract has enabled the UK aluminium glazing company to become a key distributor of Reynaers’ revolutionary Hi-Finity product and has strengthened the already solid working relationship built between the two businesses, who have been working together since 2014.

This particular deal was set into motion to allow the window and door specialist to provide a more refined service, offering unique advantages to customers purchasing its selected Reynaers products. Homeowners can now make the most of Livingwood’s fast response times (in relation to delivery and installation dates) and convenient access to important technical information.

The Hi-Finity sliding door system has attracted much interest over the years and has become a popular choice with customers across the UK. This is for a number of reasons but is largely due to the fact that the product offers uninterrupted, panoramic views that simply aren’t provided by any other solution available on the market.

Described as the epitome of modern design, the contemporary patio door comes with multiple design possibilities, namely achieving the desired effect of floor-to-ceiling and wall-to-wall glass for sweeping views of the surrounding landscape. It subsequently towers in height, with a maximum door level of three and a half metres and door panel weight of up to 500kg.

Despite this immense size the sophisticated interlock between the door panels is incredibly narrow (35mm wide) and versatility comes due to its combination of double track and triple track designs. A stylish frame is incorporated with its chic black bars – which are positioned between the glass panes – and technical advancement means that the solutions can be installed with or without a gutter.

The system comprises an intelligent electronic locking system that is concealed and can be seamlessly operated by either a remote control or wall-mounted push button. The handle, meanwhile, is ergonomic in its nature and complements its overall modern style with its soft touch materials and slim design. Additional advantages include its thermal insulating and weather resistant qualities as well as an ability to adjust the locking plate and door panel alignment onsite for extra security and peace of mind.

The introduction of this innovation – which is compliant with European security standard RC2 and has been awarded the coveted Swiss Minergie accreditation for thermal efficiency – has helped to further increase brand recognition for the company.

Toby, when asked to discuss what’s in store for Livingwood, claimed strategies going forward revolve around continually adapting for operational efficiency, “In regards to future activities we are planning on increasing staff levels both in the factory and with our sales and design teams operating from the office. This will help us to better cope with the increase in manufacturing demands which we have experienced.

“Overall, we are very pleased with our performance and with the attainment of this award from Building and Facilities News because it reflects all of the hard work that our entire team has been working to achieve over the years.”
