Building and Facilities News are proud to present Architextural for this issue’s much deserved Self-Adhesive Film Supplier of the Month profile. Architextural is a new division of the William Smith Group and specialise in the supply of all architectural and building related films.
William Smith was originally set up back in 1832, and has been running as a family business ever since. In 2017, the company underwent a significant restructure which saw the Architextural division created, focusing primarily on architectural films. Architextural prides itself on its replica finishes, boasting a large selection of patterns and finishes that will help transform décor. As well as that, they also offer solar and security window films and an array of products designed to help with glazing issues.
Architextural’s self-adhesive films have proven a favourite among the industry, particularly with sign and graphic companies, shopfitters, designers, architects and specifiers, noted as a simple and cost effective alternative refurbishment solution for interior design projects. Their high quality 3M DI-NOC films are available in over 1,000 patterns and finishes, enabling clients to create the most unique designs on any existing surface – for a fraction of the usual cost.
We recently interviewed Architextural’s Marketing Manager, Lindsay Appleton, to ask what benefits Architextural could offer. Lindsay explained, “Architextural have a network of fully trained applicators who will be able to supply and install projects. Our products are extremely versatile and can also be used in a number of different sectors, from offices to retail, hotels, education, healthcare, marine, and even bars and restaurants.”
Earlier this year, Architextural attended the Surface Design Show at the Business Design Centre in London. The Surface Design show is an exhibition for architects and designers to discover the latest surface materials, innovations and industry trends. At the show, Architextural provided a detailed selection of their finishes and their vast range of films.
Most recently, Architextural announced the launch of their brand new education facility. The new facility, which will be known as The Training Academy, has been specially designed for those in or looking to enter the architectural market. With over a century of experience in using the products in house, Architextural are perhaps the perfect group from which to learn from. The Training Academy offers 10 courses, ranging from architectural and vehicle wrap film application to sales. Not only that but those on the course have the option to become part of the firm’s Installer Network, which provides not just business opportunities but also ongoing support through marketing and sales.
Lindsay also got us up to speed on the exciting plans Architextural have for the future, adding, “The company plans to focus on growing the business and expanding our reach across architectural markets. We are also highly excited by the new trend of wrapping interiors and will be focusing on bringing forward new products in this area.”
