Vandecasteele Houtimport, the Belgian fifth-generation family company, founded in 1883, run by the 4th and 5th generation, specialises in the import, trading and export of Tropical Hardwood from Africa, Southeast-Asia and South America, Scandinavian and North-American Softwood, North American and European Hardwoods.
Sustainability and reliability are an essential part of Vandecasteele Houtimport’s DNA. The company has set a challenging the goal of trading only certified timber by 2025.
Vandecasteele Houtimport imports more than 130 different wood species from 40 countries and has more than 120,000M³, mainly certified hardwood and softwood, permanently in stock in their impressive warehouse.
Working alongside timber importers, timber merchants and wholesalers, the company is able to deliver stock that is difficult to source within days using its own fleet of 18 vehicles. Its impressive set up allows its storage facility which is situated on 39.5 acres of land to accommodate more than 120,000m³ of sawn timber products.
In a matter of days, Vandecasteele Houtimport has the resources and ability to adapt and bridge the gap between sources of supply in Africa, Far East, South America and North America to Europe. This makes the company the first choice with many importers and merchants in Europe and the rest of the world.
The fair ‘BAU’ is the largest construction fair in Europe and is well attended by a very diverse and internationally qualitative audience.

Because the fair lasts a whole week, there are plenty of opportunities for both visitors and exhibitors to make contacts and network.
