Trying to keep on top of maintaining and managing working environments and equipment at a time when energy costs and prices are soaring is an ongoing and escalating challenge for many public sector organisations.
Add the pressure to comply with sustainability targets and supply chain issues and you can understand why there is a need for a straightforward procurement framework that offers a fast route to market.
Fusion21’s relaunched national Workplace and Facilities Management Framework – which is worth up to £700 million across four years – is now live and has been refreshed based on feedback from our members.
Designed to provide a range of hard and soft facilities management (FM) services to support the operation of public buildings, a total of 45 specialist firms have been appointed to the framework – 40% of which are SMEs.
The framework offers access to flexible pricing models and call-off options, supply chain innovation, and efficiencies and facilitates the outsourcing of building management contracts so organisations can focus on their core activities. It also enables members to deliver social value they can see in communities, aligned with their organisational priorities.
Having listened to member feedback, the main change we have made to the framework is to introduce consolidated lots, which make it easier to find specialists in their dedicated areas, as well as providing the option for multiple services to be provided by a single supplier.
This holistic approach removes duplication in management functions, giving commissioning teams more capacity to focus on outcomes, while suppliers can offer better value for money.
Russell Gates, Framework Manager at Fusion21 (Workplace and FM), said, “This new generation of the framework is now in its third iteration and is suitable for various building types including schools, lecture theatres, offices, laboratories, and custody suites.”
“The framework offers a fast route to market, provides regional and national coverage, and features pre-qualified and competent suppliers. It also complements our existing Grounds Maintenance Framework and Cleaning Dynamic Purchasing System and operates under the Public Contracts Regulations 2015.”
Fusion21 is also relaunching its Building Safety and Compliance Framework next month, which supports members to manage and maintain safe buildings and building compliance, whilst addressing the challenges brought by the new Building Safety Act 2022 legislation.
The framework is worth up to £800 million over four years and is suitable for all building types, with a new lot dedicated to sprinkler systems.
Fusion21 is a national social enterprise specialising in efficient and impactful public sector procurement services and delivering visible social value. To date, we have supported our members with £380 million in savings, over 13,350 employment outcomes and £200 million generated in social impact.
