State-of-the-Art Energy and Carbon Monitoring platform for UK buildings launched

An innovative software platform aimed at enabling stakeholders to accurately monitor, manage and report on a building’s operational carbon impact and energy with unsurpassed efficiency and effectiveness has been launched.

NZC Live’s developers say it provides all the data needed for subscribers to secure vital benefits, such as validating current performance, reducing waste, cutting energy costs and meeting important sustainability goals, with maximum ease.

The innovation is targeted principally at property owners, developers, main contractors and investment funds with building portfolios.

Cloud-based and operating in real-time, the platform has been unveiled by NZC Solutions, which develops dedicated software innovations for the British construction industry. The company was founded in 2023 by Tim Reeve, a former technical director of top 20 UK building company Winvic, who has more than 30 years’ experience in the sector.

Mr Reeve said, “NZC Live, which is easy to install and deploy onto our platform, offers accurate, up-to-the-minute reporting, 24/7, based on the latest UK-specific datapoints. It’s linked to a construction’s energy management system and monitors up to 10 key elements of a building, thus receiving comprehensive data on the current position.”

“Then, via features such as its unique, user-friendly dashboard, the platform seamlessly provides all the insights, analyses and easily downloadable monthly reports – breaking down end-use carbon and energy type – that stakeholders need.”

“This output will enable users to monitor or review their performance readily, identify opportunities to reduce wasted energy and eradicate inefficient elements that are inflating bills and emissions, without difficulty. They can then take decisions concerning future objectives and improvements speedily and confidently.”

Mr Reeve said using the tool would provide a solution demonstrating a building had achieved Net Zero Enabled status. This would mean it was completely configured to achieve net zero carbon emissions in the future.

He said, “NZC Live’s capabilities include comparing performance to goals, as its reports can provide details of energy use and carbon emission outcomes against user-set aims specific to a building. The tool additionally provides automatic warnings when these targets have
been exceeded.”

“NZC Live also supplies users with the chance to build benchmark data on energy performance and carbon impact across a whole portfolio of buildings, within one dashboard zone. They can thus obtain a more holistic view of these metrics highly conveniently.”
